Welcome, Matthew

With continued growth and opportunity we have noticed a real demand in greater Portland for a small building company that offers in house design services. A true Design/ Build firm. A company that can cut down on time, costs and waste to bring clients visual renderings of their ideas. In July 2016 we brought on Matthew Ahlberg as a full-time member of the Barrett Made team to make this a reality. Matthew is a licensed Maine architect who will serve as Barrett Made’s director of design services. He has extensive experience in the architecture, design and construction fields.  Prior to joining the Barrett Made team Matthew served as project manager for one of the most awarded and well respected architecture firms in Maine. His in-depth understanding of the design process helps to leverage a project’s potential by providing a continuous working dialogue between the design and construction teams that ultimately helps cultivate project value.  He has served as a project designer/architect for several AIA and Maine Preservation award winning projects in New York, and greater New England.  Matthew proudly serves on the Town of North Yarmouth’s Economic and Sustainability Committee and holds a degree manga cum laude from the Syracuse University School of Architecture.
Outside the office Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons swimming or skiing in the Western Foothills of Maine and exploring the coast.  If you ask him, he’ll proudly tell you about the time he won a pizza eating contest. A talented architect, designer, champion pizza eater, and all around great guy. We're lucky to have Matthew aboard!
